TODDLER CRITICALLY INJURED IN POOL DROWNING ACCIDENT

From:New York attorney Gary E. Rosenberg (personal injury and accident attorney and lawyer; serving Brooklyn Queens Bronx; Queens Accident Attorney)

On Saturday evening, May 22, 2010, two-year-old Chloe Acosta was found unconscious in the swimming pool of her family's West Babylon, Long Island, New York home. She was found by her mother. There are no reports as to how this accident happened.

West Babylon emergency personnel responded and performed CPR. The child was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, where she is in critical condition and on a respirator.

Police are still trying to determine how she ended up in the pool.

Comment: It's the time of year when homeowners are opening up their pools for the season. Please be careful and take appropraie steps to prevent accidents and drownings. Have a fence with locking gate around your pool if you have children living with you or even if you just expect children to visit during the summer months. Also, get a floating pool alarm, which signals if an object enters the water.
