WAS DEADLY BUFFALO (NEW YORK) FIRE AN ACCIDENT?

From: New York attorney Gary E. Rosenberg (personal injury and accident attorney and lawyer; serving Brooklyn Queens Bronx; Brooklyn Accident Attorney)

On Thursday April 29, 2010 at 10:00 AM a house fire was detected at the Heitman home in Buffalo New York. One year-old Nova Heitman was napping in the house, while her father was outside working on a car.

Neighbors tried to rescue the child but were prevented by thick smoke. Buffalo firefighters made an heroic effort and were able to battle through the smoke and get to the baby. She was taken to a local hospital - Erie County Medical Center - where she was declared dead.

Authorities have not yet confirmed if the fire was accidental; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
