QUEENS DRIVER SUES NEW YORK CITY OVER CAR ACCIDENT ON BROOKLYN'S KOSCIUSKO BRIDGE

From: New York attorney Gary E. Rosenberg (personal injury and accident attorney and lawyer; serving Brooklyn Queens Bronx; Brooklyn Injury Attorney)

The New York Post reports that Queens resident Dennis Aryan filed a lawsuit in the Brooklyn branch of the New York Supreme Court, claiming that his car crashed on the Brooklyn side of the Kosciusko bridge because of "defective and hazardous conditions."

Mr. Aryan is suing New York City for personal injury suffered in the accident; after totaling his car on the Bridge, which Gov. Paterson had promised to rebuild.

While New York City is responsible for basic maintenance of roads, it's New York State's job to rebuild them. Apparently, political and budget problems have delayed the $1 billion Kosciusko project, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

So, could this accident and injuries and lawsuit been avoided?

New York City authorities have not commented.
